LANCASTER SELECTED FOR AMERICAN SCHOLARSHIP COMPETITION

Danielle Brooke Lancaster, a senior at Calhoun High School is one of 12 finalist competing for the The American Scholar Scholarship sponsored in part by WV Radio Magic 106.5 FM. The twelve finalists were selected from over 260 applications.

Danielle is asking the community for support during the next phase of the competition which is public voting. Voting information can be found at magicscholar.com

First prize is a four-year full scholarship (valued over $120,000) to West Virginia Wesleyan College in Buckhannon.

Second prize is a $21,000 four-year scholarship to West Virginia Wesleyan.

Third prize is a $18,500 four-year fees at West Virginia Wesleyan.

At graduation from Calhoun High, Danielle should have enough college credits to enter college as a sophomore. She will be attending West Virginia Wesleyan where she plans to major in nursing and take extra classes and go on to the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in Lewisburg specializing in Pediatric Medicine.

Danielle is the daughter of David and Sarah Lancaster of Grantsville, the granddaughter of Eric and Martha Newell of Grantsville and Rev. David and Linda Lancaster of Summersville, and the great granddaughter of Mildred Yoak of Millstone and Ruth Lancaster of Grantsville.
