Geraldine Marie Blair, 67 - Big Bend

Geraldine Marie Blair, 67, of Big Bend, Calhoun County, West Virginia, went to be with the Lord, January 2, 2012 at her home following a battle with cancer.

Geraldine "Gerry" was born December 27, 1944 at Orma WV one of 13 children of the late Acie and Dola Parsons Nicholas.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one sister, Velma Jean Frame; two brothers, Cecil and Bernard Nicholas.

Surviving are her husband of 48 years, Sanford Blair; one daughter, Deanna Blair of Bellefontaine OH, two sons, Allen Blair at home and Mitchell Blair of Bettsville OH; four brothers, Ivan Henderson of Brohard WV, Russell Burl, Carder Paul and Calvin Glen all of Bear Run, Orma WV; five sisters, Nella Jean Yancy of Rosedale WV, Carlene Frederick of Nobe WV, Evalene Drake of Clemmons NC, Connie Nichols of Canton OH, and Linda McQuain of Sutton WV; five grandchildren; two step grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She was a 1964 graduate of Calhoun County High School. Most of her married life was spent living in Ohio where she and her husband both worked at Whirlpool. She enjoyed traveling, working on genealogy, crafts, and spending time with her grandchildren. She will surely be missed by family and friends.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 6 at Stump Funeral Home in Grantsville WV with Rev. Alfred Hickman and Rev. Rick Metheney officiating. Interment will be in the Nobe Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
