DAVISVILLE WOMAN RECOVERED FROM HUGHES - Tried To Rescue 8-Year-Old Child

The body of a Davisville, Wood County woman was pulled from the Hughes River about noon Monday, ending a two-day search. Mary T. Dugan, 34, tried to rescue her 8-year-old child after experiencing difficulty in the rapid water. The child managed to reach safety, but Ms. Dugan was swept downstream. At least ten fire department and rescue companies responded to the scene near the Wirt-Ritchie line along Route 47.
