CENTURY ALUMINUM WORKERS HOLDING PROTEST - Millions Have Lost Promised Benefits

(12/28/2011)
With millions of American workers and retirees losing their healthcare and retirement benefits, a group of Century Aluminum retirees are camping outside the company's shuttered plant in Ravenswood to protest their loss of health care benefits.

The protesters include retirees' family members and supporters, a protest that will continue through New Years.

Century closed the Ravenswood factory in 2009 and laid off more than 600 workers. The company ended all promised health care benefits for retirees in December 2010.

The retirees were promised lifetime health care benefits.
