West Virginians are not connoisseurs of fine wine, nor for that matter cheap wine.

A study just released by The Beer Institute says West Virginians drink less wine than in any other state.

They drink lots of beer, ranked 17th out of 50 states for the highest consumption.

In the ranking, they are next-to-last when it comes to drinking liquor.

The study was done for for the West Virginia Bureau for Behavioral Health and Health Facilities and the West Virginia Prevention Center.

West Virginians, the study says, tends to consume alcohol at lower rates than the rest of the nation.
