ORLESS HICKMAN - Parkersburg

Orless "Jake" Hickman, 75, of Parkersburg, WV passed away June 6, 2002, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.

He was born November 14, 1926, in White Pine, WV, a son of the late Ethan and Pearl Kendall Hickman. He was retired from Hope Gas Company after many years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served the 63rd Infantry in the Korean War. He was Methodist by faith.

Surviving is his wife of 54 years, Elizabeth "Betty" Yoak Hickman; one son and his wife, Orless Lee and Rita Hickman of Vienna, WV; one daughter and her husband, Marla and Tom Parrish, of Parkersburg; three grandchildren, Carrie Ann Hickman of Atlanta, GA., Kristi Lee and Michael Williams of Vienna, and Jeremy and Angie Venham of Convers, GA.; one great-grandson, Zachary Kimmel of Convers; one brother, Jack Hickman of Dunbar, WV.; two sisters, Coe McCartney of East Liverpool, Ohio, and Blondena Parshall of Charleston, WV; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Oral Hickman.

Services were held 3 p.m. Sunday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Green Street, Parkersburg with the Rev. Bob Stanley and Rev. Earle Arthur officiating. Interment was in Sunset Memory Gardens with full military rites by American Legion Post 15.
