HEARTWOOD PERFORMS FINAL DECEMBER CELEBRATION

(12/12/2011)

Heartwood's performance is a delight
for audiences, a special December gift

Saturday was the final performance of Heartwood in the Hills annual December Celebration, an event that has been produced by staff and students since 1992.

It has often attracted audiences of 200.

Artistic Director Jude Binder (above left) welcomed the audience to to the performance, with the full production delivered Saturday night.

Also participating in the Celebration was Ilene Evans (above right) of Voices From the Earth and "The Frisbee Guy" Gary Auerbach, an accomplished athlete, juggler, dancer and the 1995 World Freestyle Frisbee Champ.

Evans has been a treasured part of December Celebrations for many years.

A number of Heartwood alumni and faculty joined the performers to perform Heartwood's signature dance "The Salutation" and the Creative Arts for Children's class will sing "Wonderful World" - a favorite song at Heartwood.

The program featured the work of students in Heartwood's Performing Arts Program, alumni Amy Jacobs Nicholas, Emily Ames Mallon and Lauren Randall-Myers and many others.

Donations are appreciated.
