Lillian Vale Cox Baker, 95 - Letter Gap

Lillian Vale Cox Baker age 95 of Letter Gap, West Virginia (Grass Run Community) departed this life at 11:13 p.m. Thursday December 8, 2011 at her residence following an extended illness.

Born August 14, 1916 in Gilmer Co. daughter of the late Rev. F.H. and Clara Grace Cox.

Lillian was a member of the Glenville Rebekah Lodge and Weston V.F.W., she loved quilting and was a Baptist by faith.

On December 11, 1938 she was married to Lester Baker, who preceded her in death on February 12, 2007.

Surviving are 6 children, Patricia Spencer of Weirton WV, Orval "Butch" Baker of Wintersville OH, Beverly Lou Sprouse and husband Larry of Normantown WV, James Baker and wife Lenora of Myrtle Beach SC, Howard "Spike" Baker of Steubenville OH, Debra Hutchison and husband Gene of Centreville VA. There are 15 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren surviving; one sister also survives, Marge Carpenter of Elyria OH.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Monday December 12, at the Ellyson Mortuary Inc, Glenville WV with Pastor Mike Sprouse officiating. Burial will in the Cox Cemetery.

Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the Mortuary.

Ellyson Mortuary Inc. is assisting the family of Lillian Baker with arrangements.
