Geraldine L. Taylor, 85 - Glenville

Geraldine L. Taylor age 85 of Glenville, West Virginia, departed this life at 3:05 a.m. Thursday, December 8, 2011 at her home following a long illness.

She was born March 24, 1926 in Gilmer County daughter of the late Earl P. and Mamie Wright Murphy. Mrs. Taylor was retired from Glenville State College in 1991 as a cashier, she loved to travel, was a member of Tops, and loved being with her family. Geraldine was also a member of the Kingdom Hall Jehovah Witness of Glenville.

On November 5, 1945 she was united in marriage to Claudius V. Taylor, who preceded her in death on January 1, 1992.

Surviving are 1 son, David Taylor of Vienna; 3 daughters, Elizabeth Greenlief of Glenville, Erma Heater and husband Harry of Glenville and Sue Byrd of Burnt House; 1 sister, Anna Jean Allen of Letter Gap. There are 7 grandchildren and several great grandchildren also surviving.

Along with her husband and parents Geraldine was preceded in death by 1 brother, James Murphy.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday December 10, at the Ellyson Mortuary Inc. Glenville WV with Elder Brian Connington officiating. Burial will follow in the Meadow Lane Cemetery (Rt. 5 west) of Glenville.

Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Friday at the Mortuary.

Ellyson Mortuary Inc. is assisting the family of Geraldine Taylor with arrangements.
