Bessie Irene Anderson, 82, of Spencer, West Virginia, died Saturday, December 3, 2011, in the Roane General Hospital, Spencer. She was born February 20, 1929, at Clover, a daughter of the late Ballard Pendleton and Sarah Jane Matheney Caldwell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur C. Anderson in 1992; one grandson, Jason Daniel Anderson; four brothers, James, Charles, Harry and Robert Caldwell; ten half brothers and sisters. Mrs. Anderson was a homemaker. She was a member of the Keffer United Methodist Church, Clover and a lifelong resident of Roane County. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Ronnie Casto of Spencer, sons and daughters-in-law, Arthur Steven and Helen Anderson of Spencer, William Jeffery and Donna Anderson of Parkersburg; sister, Ocie Hunt of Spencer; six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, December 6 at noon in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Daniel R. Whited and the Rev. Donald D. Cottrill, Sr. officiating.
