OHIO MAN INJURED IN TREE STAND FALL NEAR BIG ROOT

Hunting season has produced one injury in the region, an Ohio man was injured in the Big Root area of Calhoun when he fell from a tree stand this week.

Lt. Stan Hickman of the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources said the 34-year-old from Massillon, Ohio suffered a collapsed lung, broken ribs and a pulmonary hematoma.

Hickman did not release the name of the man, who was first taken to Minnie Hamilton Health System in Grantsville and was expected to be transferred to an Ohio hospital.
