Car in ditch-line, firemen use Jaws of Life to extract victims

A two-car head-on collision Thursday evening sent two drivers to a Charleston hospital with "some really serious injuries."

The accident happened just south of Chloe Hardware on State Route 16 at 4:51 p.m., with one vehicle coming to a stop in a ditch-line and the other still on the highway.

Cenneth Jolley, 23, reportedly received multiple fractures of the legs, among other injuries. Family members said he will be in surgery Friday at CAMC. He was taken to Charleston by chopper.

36-year-old Kyle Lancaster of Spring Run, Arnoldsburg, received multiple injuries including a crushed kneecap, and is in the trauma unit of CAMC, after being transported by Calhoun EMS.

The Upper West Fork VFD used Jaws of Life equipment to extract both victims taking about one hour, according to Fire Chief Randy Perkins.

Traffic was blocked on Rt. 16 for a considerable time.

The WV State Police, Grantsville Detachment, does not release public information regarding incidents in the county.
