ANNOUNCING A NEW WALKING TRAIL - The Grantsville Trail

(06/06/2002)
Submitted by Brenda McBride

In an effort to increase senior involvement in walking for fitness, the Calhoun County Committee on Aging (CCCOA) has developed a mile walking trail beginning and ending at the CCCOA. The trail will run down River and Mill Streets in Grantsville.

We are looking for walking partners to start using this new trail. Starter Packets will be given to the first 25 who sign up as participants. The packet includes a T-shirt, insulated water bottle with shoulder strap, sun visor and clock to measure time walked. You can pick up a sign-up sheet at the CCCOA.

For your convenience, benches, trash cans and "Pedestrian Walking" signs will be placed along the trail. We want you to be as comfortable in your efforts as possible. Our tentative start date for the project will be Monday, July 1st.

Miles walked will be logged and prizes given for partners logging the most miles. Log Sheets will be given with your starter packet and can be placed in marked boxes at the CCCOA.

So, find your partner and let's have fun getting fit together!

For more information call the CCCOA in Grantsville at (304) 354-7017, 354-7822/ or 354-7002

This project made possible by funding from the Community Based Initiative Grant administered by MHHCC to the CCCOA and collaborative member, RHEP.
