A former Calhoun man has been arrested in Spencer for selling drugs on a downtown street.

State Police arrested Jerry Scott Wagoner, 37, of Spencer and charged him with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.

A state trooper saw Wagoner on the street corner, and he was questioned. He allegedly told the police he had pills, for which he said he had a prescription.

He reportedly told police he had marijuana he had purchased in Calhoun County for $240 an ounce.

Messages on his cell phone indicated he was using the phone to make drug sales, according to the criminal complaint.

Police found 31 grams of marijuana and hydrocodone tablets.

Wagoner was released on $2,000 bond pending a hearing.

Wagoner had previous drug arrests in Calhoun.
