SPENCER WOMAN REPORTEDLY CHARGED IN INFANTS DEATH - Deceased Is Six-Week-Old Shea Ferguson

Charges have been filed against a High Street, Spencer woman in the death of a six-month-old child last Sunday, June 2. Police reportedly arrested 21-year-old Jessica Ferguson yesterday, following an investigation which reportedly indicated the child could have died of a head injury against a flat surface. Parsons-Waybright Funeral Home in Ripley said a private service will be held for Shea Ferguson, who was born on April 25, 2002. The funeral home indicated Ms. Ferguson may have been a former resident of Jackson County. Information is yet to be made available about the circumstances surrounding the death, but the charge against Ms. Ferguson is said to be "death of a child by parent or custodian.'
