Calhoun County's Adult Basic Education classes, which include preparation for the GED (General Equivalency Diploma) test, are closed for the summer.

The classes, which are held at the Calhoun-Gilmer Career Center, will resume when the public schools reopen in the fall. Meanwhile, students may continue classes through the summer at the Gilmer County ABE site in Sand Fork. Call 462-7744 for more information.

Anyone interested in taking their GED examination may do so in Wood or Kanawha County throughout the summer. For more information, call the Boards of Education in those counties and inquire as to date, time and location of examinations. Don't forget to ask about registration.

A posting will be placed in the newspapers and on the Hur Herald when classes resume in the fall. Until then, Shelly Allen, the ABE instructor, wishes to congratulate everyone on their hard work this year, reminds everyone to keep studying through the summer, and wishes those who will be taking their test this summer "Good Luck!". See you in the fall.
