WOMAN INJURED IN ATV CRASH IN DEEP WOODS OFF CRUMMIS CREEK

(11/07/2011)

Woman brought out of deep woods following ATV roll-over

A Kanawha County woman was injured when an ATV overturned in a remote section of the Right Fork of Crummis Creek near the Bear Fork Wilderness area Saturday afternoon.

Jennifer Burford, 35, of St. Albans, reportedly received neck and back injuries in the crash, along with a 16-year-old, whose injuries did not appear to be serious.

Burford was brought out of the woods by Calhoun EMS and other personnel following the 3:20 p.m. 911 call, with the Arnoldsburg VFD also assisting.

Both were taken by choppers to Charleston Area Medical Center from a landing zone at the intersection of Crummis Creek and Rt. 16.
