ARRESTS CONTINUE AFTER CRUMMIS CREEK RIGHT-OF-WAY FEUD

(11/05/2011)
State Police have arrested Shirley Carol Rush, 32, of Arnoldsburg for assault related to a September incident involving a family dispute over property access.

Rush is incarcerated in Central Regional Jail.

According to Sgt. O. S. Starsick, he responded to a call on Crummis Creek where Brian and Ernest Rush said they were standing outside the residence of Scottie Rush when five shots were fired from the nearby woods.

The criminal complaint says that shotgun pellets struck the roof of the residence, and that they heard Shirley Carol Rush shout "Yahoo!" as he drove away on an ATV.

State Police said the accused claimed he was shooting at a squirrel.

The criminal complaint says that "Brian and Ernest Rush were fearful of being shot..." saying there was "working knowledge of an on-going family dispute."

Police have made several other arrests related to the dispute.
