Motivational Speaker Tells Students at AES to Never Give Up!

Mr. Brent Yancey has lived with a disability for most of his life. He recently visited AES classrooms and encouraged students to keep trying even when things become difficult. He illustrated this principle through storytelling activities. Mr. Yancey is the brother of fourth grade teacher, Mrs. Gina Freed.

3rd Graders Learn about Animal Adaptations

3rd grade students at AES had an exciting science class learning about animal adaptations. For one activity, the students used a variety of tools such as tongs, wooden spoons, and chopsticks to pick up and carry items across the playground. The tools were used to imitate a bird's beak. The third graders proved that learning science can be great fun.

4th Graders Learn about Native Americans

Fourth grade students have been learning about America's earliest people. Each student researched and reported on a Native American tribe. Posters and models were displayed outside the fourth grade classrooms.
