GLENVILLE COMMUNITY HALLOWEEN PARTY AND HAUNTED HOUSE SATURDAY

(10/29/2011)
Glenville, WV - Glenville City officials and members of the Glenville Street Gang have partnered with Glenville State College students, faculty, and staff to present the annual Community Halloween Party and Haunted House.

The event will be held on Saturday, October 29th at 8:00 p.m. at GSC's Pickens Hall. "Partnering with GSC allows this year's Halloween festivities to be bigger and better than ever before. I am very excited and hope everyone comes out and participates in the fun," said Glenville Mayor Tashua Allman.

In the main lounge of Pickens Hall, there will be a free dance with food, drinks, and a live DJ. There will also be a Haunted House. Admission for the Haunted House is $2 with a portion of the proceeds going to Relay for Life.

There will be a judged costume parade beginning at 8:15 p.m. that starts in the GSC High Street parking lot and ends in front of Pickens Hall. Registration begins at 7:30 p.m. for the parade. A jack o' lantern carving contest will also take place. Pumpkins should be carved and ready to be presented to judges.

"It is great the college offered the space for us to use and students stepped up to help. The joint effort will make this event a success because we are all working together," said Allman.

The Haunted House at GSC's Pickens Hall will also be open October 25-27th from 8:00 to10:00 p.m. and will be operated by GSC Resident Assistants. For more information, contact Allman at allman.tashuam@hotmail.com or (304) 462-8040.
