FOUR-WHEELER VICTIM IN FAIR CONDITION - Swisher Youth Comes Through Surgery

(06/04/2002)
Eleven-year-old Anthony Swisher of Nobe was listed in fair condition at Women's and Children's Hospital Monday evening, according to a hospital spokesperson. Swisher is a patient in the ICU pediatric unit.

He was air-lifted to CAMC by HealthNet following a four-wheeler accident near White Pine Road, Sunday afternoon. Swisher was riding as a passenger. He underwent surgery for head trauma after the four-wheeler struck a tree and he was thrown into a creek.

The youth's head reportedly struck a rock, knocking him unconscious. The driver of the four-wheeler, eleven-year-old Zack Wease, went to his assistance, elevating his head above two feet of water until other help arrived. The Wease youth escaped serious injury.
