DEPUTY ARRESTED AFTER KNIFE ATTACK - Police have arrested a McDowell County sheriff's deputy after allegedly holding a knife to his wife's throat and then harassing her while she was working at the local 911 center.

Deputy Justin Ryan England, 29, of Premier, got into an argument with his wife, Amanda England, and allegedly threw water and cigarette debris on his wife before holding a knife to her throat, according to a criminal complaint.

Amanda England then went to her job as a dispatcher at the McDowell County 911 Center in Welch and her husband allegedly arrived outside the center and would not leave, calling the center multiple times trying to speak with her.

She denied him access through the building's security system.

England reportedly had a history of domestic violence.

Police found medication in his vehicle for which he did not have a prescription.

England was charged with brandishing a deadly weapon, domestic assault, possessing prohibited medication, stalking, disrupting government processes, trespassing and making harassing telephone calls. He was released on a $500 bond.

BARBOUR MAN KILLS WIFE - The Barbour County Sheriff's Department arrested Thomas Charlie Runner, 46, and charged him with first degree murder after he confessed to killing his ex-wife, Beverly Anne Runner.

An autopsy will determine the cause of death.
