(10/15/2011)
A Bridge Day BASE jumper was seriously injured Saturday when his chute apparently did not fully deploy, according to National Park Service officials.

Christopher Ryan Brewer, 27, sustained spinal cord, pelvic and lung injuries when he fell into the New River Gorge.

Brewer of Pensacola, Florida was among hundreds of jumpers at the annual event.

Officials are saying they are reviewing the videotape of his descent to pinpoint the cause.

Brewer is listed in stable condition at Charleston Area Medical Center.
