DOG FECES SMEARED ON GRANTSVILLE COUNCILWOMAN'S DOOR

(10/14/2011)
Grantsville councilwoman Loretta Stevens discovered dog feces had been smeared on the doorknob of her front door early last Friday morning, indicating the incident was likely related to Grantsville town politics.

The feces was discovered by a neighbor who came to visit, following incidents related to parking issues that happened the previous day with Stevens' neighbors, she said.

Calhoun Chief Deputy Carl Ballengee responded to a 911 call regarding the incident, saying dog feces had been smeared on the councilwoman's door knob.

Grantsville Police Chief Jeff Starcher said he "must decline to give out any information whatsoever about this incident," which reportedly involved parking spaces.

"This is due to this incident still being under an active investigation," he said.

Chief Starcher said "After the investigation is complete, and a report is completed and filed, we can then issue your requested information."

"I'm really upset about this, but politics in Grantsville have sometimes become pretty nasty," said Stevens.
