By Kelley Houchin Calhoun High School Varsity volleyball team traveled to Wirt County Thursday, Oct. 6 and was defeated by Wirt 25-21, 22-25, 25-18, 25-17. Jordan Mace led the team in service points with 12 points, 4 aces; followed by Rochelle Gerwig 6 points, 1 ace; Chelsea Hicks 6 points, Amber Wilford 5 points,1 ace; Kenzie Laughlin 2 points, 1 ace; Samantha Church 2 points. Setting: C. Hicks: 37/39, 9 assists; Stephanie Hall 46/47, 4 assists. Hitting: Amber Wilford 40/44, 10 kills; Rochelle Gerwig 12/12, 1 kill; Sam Church 11/11, 1kill; Kenzie Laughlin 9/10, Jordan Mace 5/6, 3 kills; Kenzie Hicks 10/13; Blocks: Hall 8, Wilford 6; Digs: Gerwig 17, Laughliin 10, Mace 5, Chruch 3, Wilford 2, Manns 4. There was no JV game. Calhoun played varsity tri at Clay Tuesday with Braxton Charleston Catholic Invitational Saturday. Senior Night - Next Tuesday - Varsity Tri Senior Night Recognition at 6:00 p.m.
