Joan Jennie-Belle Turner, 73 - Spencer

Joan Jennie-Belle Turner, 73, of Spencer, West Virginia, died Friday, September 30, 2011, in the Miletree Center, Spencer, after an extended illness.

She was born October 23, 1937 in Ogdensburg, NY, a daughter of the late George Clarence and Pearl Margaret Bentley White.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard H. "Dick" Turner; two daughters, Sally Ann Turner and Peggy Jean Turner; a brother, Neal White.

Joan was a homemaker and member of the First Baptist Church of Spencer.

Survivors include two daughters, Dawn McCune of Spencer and Charlene Reed of Walton WV; a son, Dan Turner of Memphis TN; two sisters, Barbara Rose Stanford of Cortland NY and Louise Pearl Smith of Youngstown OH; three brothers, Paul Joseph White of Truxton NY, Clarence George White of New York, and Noel Norman White of Munford TN; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

A funeral service was held Tuesday, October 4 in the First Baptist Church of Spencer, with the Rev. Michael F. "Mike" King officiating. Burial was in the Martin Cemetery, Harmony.

John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer was in charge of the arrangements.
