Mary L. Pettry, 89, of Elizabeth West Virginia, passed away October 1, 2011 at her residence surrounded by her family.

She was born January 19, 1922 in Coalburg WV, the daughter of the late James and Sarah McSurley.

Mary enjoyed playing the piano and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her children, Kenneth (Donna) Pettry of Brooksville FL, Ronald Pettry of Palestine WV, Wanda (Blair) Salsbury of Mineral Wells WV, Rita (Dale) Hurst of Burning Springs WV, Shian (Don) Gordon of Saegerton PA; grandchildren, Deanna Harris, Kenny Wayne Pettry, Terry Greene, David Pettry, Lori Pettry, Violet Dean Rader, Ronald Pettry Jr., Jason Pettry, Crystal Williams, Jeremy Pettry, Blair Salsbury Jr., Mark Salsbury, Jeff Salsbury, Steve Salsbury, Patricia Rodriguez, Dawn Groves, Jennifer Williot, Donald Pettry Jr., Tony Pettry, Mary S. Pettry, Mary Ann Davis, Sheila Pettry, Amanda Pettry, Twyanna Pettry, Tammy Wilburn, Lisa Piggott, Jamie Hurst, Tiffany McElfresh, and Phillip Gordon; several great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews; and a sister, Margaret C. Peto of Akron OH.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Leo A. Pettry; 2 sons, Lloyd "Pete" Pettry, and Donald Pettry Sr.; 2 daughters, Linda Trader, Deanna L. Pettry; 2 grandsons, Leo Beau Pettry, Michael Pettry, and David Paul Criss; 1 brother, James Edward McSurley Jr.; 5 sisters, Gevieve Keeney, Violet Johnson, Eva Blake, Gladys Kidd, and Audrey Matheny.

Memorial service will be held Saturday October 10, at 3:00 p.m. at Matheny Whited Funeral Home of Elizabeth WV with the Rev. Dean Ash officiating. Friends and Family are welcome one hour prior to the service.
