UPDATE: RITCHIE WOMAN DIES IN US 50 COLLISION - Four Injured In Crash, Death Reported In Ritchie Fire

UPDATE - A Ritchie County woman, Edna Snavely of Middlebourne is dead after a car she was driving pulled out of the southbound lane of West Virginia Route 74 near Pennsboro onto the eastbound lane of U.S. Route 50, according to Deputy Jim Asbury with the Ritchie County Sheriff's Department.

Snavely's car was struck by another vehicle.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three passengers in the car with Snavely were all taken to Camden- Clark Medical Center, along with the driver of the other vehicle involved.

A report of their condition was not available.

ORIGINAL STORY SAT. 12:15 PM - A major vehicle crash before noon has critically injured three or more of the drivers and passengers at the Rt. 50/Rt. 74 intersection at Pennsboro, Ritchie County.

Choppers could not fly to transport the injured and ambulances and emergency services from Smithville, Harrisville and Pennsboro responded to the scene.

Traffic has been backed up for miles on US 50.
