| (05/30/2002) |

A Roane County man, 51-year-old Teddy McClain, has been indicted by a Roane
County Grand Jury for involuntary manslaughter in the shooting death of his step-son.
McClain was charged with shooting Jason Mace, 22, on Triplett Road last January.
(See Hur Herald ARCHIVES 1/24/02) Young Mace returned to the McClain household in the early morning hours, after which McClain apparently shot him to death with a .44 magnum. Police found Mace's body in a doorway of the front porch. McClain reportedly told police he shot in self-defense. Mace's mother, Debbie Boyle Mace, died of cancer a few months before the shooting. |
