A Roane County man, 51-year-old Teddy McClain, has been indicted by a Roane
County Grand Jury for involuntary manslaughter in the shooting death of his step-son.
McClain was charged with shooting Jason Mace, 22, on Triplett Road last January.

Young Mace returned to the McClain household in the early morning hours, after
which McClain apparently shot him to death with a .44 magnum. Police found Mace's
body in a doorway of the front porch. McClain reportedly told police he shot in
self-defense.
Mace's mother, Debbie Boyle Mace, died of cancer a few months before the shooting.
