Franklin B. "Frank" Minney , 74 - Stumptown

Franklin B. "Frank" Minney age 74 of Stumptown, West Virginia, departed this life at 6:34 a.m., Monday, September 12, 2011 at his residence following an extended illness.

He was born January 29, 1937 in Gilmer County a son of the late Sylvester David and Mollie Reed Minney.

Retiring in July of 2002 from the Gilmer County Board of Education in Custodial-Maintenance his 27 years of service left him with many acquaintances and fond attachment especially to Normantown Elementary School where he was highly and actively involved and considered them as family. After his retirement Frank became warmly known as a collector connoisseur for his numerous collections, he loved going to auctions and antiquing from sales. His true fondness and love of his life was his grandchildren.

Surviving are three children, Franklin A. Minney and wife Lisa of Stumptown; Ronald G. Minney and wife Debbie of Stumptown and Cynthia Diane Minney and companion Joseph Mannino of Haymarket VA; 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren survive, Jennifer Peters and husband Duston of Stumptown, Makayla Boggs of Haymarket VA, Makenzie Boggs of Haymarket VA, Jesse Lamouroux of Las Vegas NV, Dylan, Devon and Decon Lamouroux all of Las Vegas; 2 brothers and 1 sister survive, Kesley Minney and wife Hallie of Sand Fork WV; Sylvester "Squirt" Minney and wife Joy of Manassas VA and Patty Lou Pryor of Springfield VA. He is also survived by ex-wife Dinas (Diane) Minney of Stumptown.

Frank was preceded in death by brothers, Leonard, Edmond, and Clark Minney; and sisters, Ruby Cox, and Irene Payne; infant brothers and sister, Ersel, Bradford and Charltte Minney.

Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, September 17 at the Ellyson Mortuary, Inc., Glenville. Burial will follow in the Stump Cemetery, Stumptown WV.

Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Friday at the Mortuary. Family requests in lieu of flowers contributions be made to Normantown Elementary PTO.

Ellyson Mortuary, Inc. is assisting the family of Frank Minney with arrangements.
