Blonda (Sister) Ada Meadows Richards, 76 - Parkersburg

Blonda (Sister) Ada Meadows Richards, 76, went home to be with the Lord on Sept. 10, 2011.

She was born Nov. 10, 1934, to Hoy and Nola Meadows.

After marrying Ivan, she enjoyed being a homemaker, raising her children and spending time with her grandchildren and extended family. One of her favorite recent activities was watching "NCIS" with family.

Blonda is survived by one son, Duane Richards; two daughters, Cathy Richards and Missy (Billy) Joy and their children, Brandon, Matt and Allison Joy; one son-in-law, Roy Spellman and children, Roy (Tiffany) Spellman Jr., Cathy (Brad) Wright and Teresa (Tim) Elliott; one goddaughter, Angie (Mark) Negie and children, Jessi Freed and Danny and Jordan Stemple; great-grandchildren, Kaleb and Dominick Wright; special nieces and nephews, Debbie Meadows, Johnny (Robin) Meadows, Frank (Sherry) McCormick and Waynie McCormick; and special cousins, George and Marie Hissem.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan Richards; one daughter, Loretta Spellman; siblings, Alice (Tootsie) McCormick and William (Shorty) Meadows; nieces and nephews, Nola (Butter), Ada, William (Bim) and Danny; and one granddaughter, Meredith.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike Street, south Parkersburg, with Pastor Bill Law officiating. Interment will follow at Hunt Cemetery, Calhoun County, W.Va. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
