Shelby Lee "Doc" Moore, 68 - Walton

Shelby Lee "Doc" Moore, 68, of Walton, West Virginia, died Thursday, September 1, 2011, at his home.

He was born June 6, 1943, at Walton, a son of the late Riley and Opal Virginia Taylor Moore. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Jacob and Elbert Moore.

"Doc" was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He was a retired employee of MTD, Cleveland, OH. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and bowling.

Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Patricia Ann Taylor Moore; a daughter and son-in-law, Victoria and Lonnie Fowler of Red Bay AL; sons, Chester and his companion Vickie of Walton, Timothy and Jeffery both of Cleveland OH; sisters and brothers-in-law, Doris and James Larch of Walton, Loriene Regen, Brenda and Paul Ferrara all of Summersville SC; brothers and sister-in-law, Winford "Jim" and Rose, Okey, Carl, Roger, and Vernan "Dink" Moore all of Walton; three grandchildren, Ashley Moore, Carrie Eck, and Terry "Duece" all of Cleveland; seven great grandchildren, Keith, Anthony, Vincent, Lily, Nudia, Noah and Natasha.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, September 4 at 2:00 p.m. in the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, Walton, with the Rev. Alvin Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Walton.

Friends may call Saturday from 6-8 p.m. at the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer and at the church one hour before the service.
