Preschool students first day of school begins Tuesday.

Calhoun County Preschool follows the regular county school calendar with the exception that preschool students attend four days per week, Monday through Thursday.

Each classroom has one teacher and one classroom assistant. Calhoun County Preschool has no classroom with over twenty students in a session. All of the preschool staff satisfies the requirements of WV Policy 2525.

Transportation to and from school is available for in-district students who ride buses. Out of district students are transported by the parent.

Preschool students will not be allowed to ride buses that require a transfer in route.

The Calhoun County Preschool program is a part of Calhoun County Schools. At this time, there are four classrooms available for children who are four. Services are provided for three year old's with special needs.

Preschool children who are new to the Calhoun County Preschool Program, ages 3-4 who might have a special need or have not previously been screened by Calhoun County Schools, may obtain an appointment for screening by calling the preschool office 304-354-7011, ext. 12.

Screening of a preschool child does not indicate the child will qualify for special needs services.
