BRAXTON MAN ARRESTED FOR DRUG HEIST IN BRIDGEPORT - Suspect Fired Gun Stealing Prescriptions

West Virginia State Police in Braxton County have arrested a man who has been wanted in connection with an armed robbery at Best Care Pharmacy in Bridgeport on July 14.

Nicholas Canfield, 30, has been charged with armed robbery and three counts of wanton endangerment.

Canfield was arrested during a traffic stop Saturday in Braxton and taken to Central Regional Jail.

Bridgeport police said that a woman purchased two prescriptions from the pharmacy. When she got into a vehicle with two other people, a man with a gun got into the vehicle and demanded the prescriptions.

Police said the man fired a shot inside of the car, with no one being hit. He took the prescriptions and fled.

At the time of the incident, Bridgeport police said Braxton Countians could have information about the man.
