Randy Paul Miller, 53, of Landis, North Carolina, formerly of Spencer, West Virginia, died Friday, August 19, 2011, at his home, after a brief illness. He was born December 21, 1957, at Spencer, a son of Ralph E. Miller of Spencer and the late Aulene Starcher Miller, who died August 11, 2011. Randy was a former employee of the Spencer Foodland. He was a former volunteer member of the Spencer Roane Volunteer Fire Department and the Roane County Emergency Squad. In addition to his father, survivors include a daughter, Jessica Hott of Kannapolis NC; three grandchildren, Chase Garrett, Austin Garrett and Shane Hott; three sisters, Carolyn Costello-Prevatt of Charlotte NC, Christine Keen of Statesville NC and Marilyn Burgess of Landis NC; a brother, Ed Miller of Spencer. A funeral service will be held Monday, August 22 at 1:00 p.m. in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with Rev. Keith Kannenberg officiating.
