CALHOUN HAD 57 YOUTH ENROLLED IN SUMMER WORK PROGRAM

About 57 Calhoun youth participated in a summer work program funded and managed by WorkForce WV, doing fix-up and clean-up at several Calhoun sites.

Seventy-two Calhoun youth originally applied and were eligible for the program, which was just completed for the summer.

Youth 14 to 21 years of age participated in the program, with eight supervisors.

Workers were assigned to the county' three schools, Calhoun County Park, Wayne Underwood Field, Calhoun Courthouse, Calhoun-Gilmer Career Center, Town of Grantsville, Minnie Hamilton Health System, Upper West Fork Park, and the Mt. Zion Pit Stop.

Roane County had 36 youth workers, Wirt 23, Ritchie 36.
