GILMER MAN ARRESTED AFTER CHASE - Arrested On Multiple Charges

A Gilmer County man is behind bars facing several charges after reports say he lead police on a chase Saturday night, according to the Glenville Police Department. Thomas Bonnell, 36, has been charged with delivery of a controlled substance, third offense driving on a revoked license, and fleeing from an officer. Police say that they saw a van driving the wrong way on a one way street, and attempted to pull the driver over. Bonnell allegedly got out of the van and took off on foot, leading police on a chase for more than 100 yards. Officers went back to the van, and that's where they allegedly found about 51 grams of Marijuana along with scales and drug paraphernalia. Bonnell is being held on $35,000.00 bond.
