Eucle C. Knotts, 102 - Orma

Eucle C. Knotts, 102 years young, of Orma, West Virginia, passed away August 5, 2011 at Miletree Center in Spencer WV.

He was born May 18, 1909 to the late Howard and Vena Westfall Knotts. In 1930 he married Velma Vannoy and celebrated 72 years of marriage.

He retired from Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company of Akron, Ohio in 1972. He promptly returned to his beloved West Virginia where he resided in Millstone for 27 years and later returned to the family farm, "Crowhill" where he remained active in the community and the Minnora United Methodist Church.

In 2008 he was voted Democrat of the Year and was inducted into the West Virginia Voters Hall of Fame.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Velma and his eldest son, Calvin Knotts; his brothers, Victor, Walter, Charles and Raymond; and sisters, Ruby and Opal.

He is survived by two children, Robert Knotts of Pennsylvania and Debbie Frey of Atwood Lake, Ohio; his sister, Berdine Wayne (Wheeler); 9 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

And now these three remain:
Faith, hope and love.
The greatest of these is love.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 9 at Stump Funeral Home in Arnoldsburg WV. Rev. Tim Hickman will officiate. Interment will be in the Minnora Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 12-noon until time of services.
