Willard B. Ellyson, 87, of Cox's Mills

Willard B. Ellyson, 87, of Jessie Run Community, Cox's Mills WV, died May 22, 2002, at Holbrook Health Care Center in Buckhannon WV.

He was born in Tanner WV, a son of the late Ira and Cora Gainer Ellyson.

He attended Cooper Grade School and Tanner High School, Gl enville Normal and Glenville State College. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and was a graduate of the U. S. Navy Electronics School. He was a former employee of the American Viscose Corporation and the North American Aviation Corporation.

He retired from the Columbus City School System's Audio Visual Department. He taught school in Gilmer and Kanawha counties WV. He was a member of the Cooper Chapel, where he served as a trustee and cemetery caretaker. He also was a member of the Tanner Methodist Church, where he served as a trustee and Sunday School superintendent.

He is survived by two nieces; and three nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Birtie Grimmett Ellyson; two sisters, Helen and Hazel Cornell; and two brothers, Russell and Hayden Ellyson. He was the last member of his family.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment in Cooper Cemetery, Jessie Run, Cox's Mills.
