UPDATE: TWENTY-YEAR-OLD ROANE MAN DIES ON PA DRILLING SITE - Duncan Services Set For Today

(07/25/2011)
Pennsylvania State Police say a 20-year-old Amma, Roane County man, died Friday at a gas drilling operation near Waynesburg. He was a 2009 graduate of Roane County High School.

State Police say co-workers and emergency medical personnel unsuccessfully tried to resuscitate Kerry Edward Duncan, who was found unresponsive at the drilling site in Franklin Township, Greene County.

He was pronounced dead at the scene at 5:05 a.m. by Greene County Coroner Greg Rohanna.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Monday in the John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer. Burial will be in the Keen Cemetery at Newton.

The Washington Observer-Reporter newspaper reports that Duncan possibly was electrocuted by a fuel pump at the site, though the exact cause of death will be determined by an autopsy.

The well, located about a mile north of Waynesburg, had been drilled by Target Drilling of Smithton.

Police say the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating.
