SPENCER POLICE ARREST SEVEN IN PRESCRIPTION DRUG BUST

Seven Spencer area residents were arrested yesterday by the Spencer Police Department on felony charges related to prescription drugs.

The arrests came after a lengthy investigation conducted by Spencer Patrolman John Westfall, with the assistance of US Marshals and the Roane County Sheriffs Department.

Spencer police are saying that those charged have been involved in selling prescription medications.

- Angel Nichols, 31, Circle Avenue, Spencer, four counts possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver; four counts delivery of a controlled substance; one count of conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance.

- Jeff Vandale, 56, Steele Hollow Road, Spencer, one count delivery of a controlled substance; one count of conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance.

- Steve Browning, 23, Spencer, one count of delivery of a controlled substance; one count of conspiracy to deliver controlled substance.

- Norma Jean Crocket, 36, one count delivery of a controlled substance; one count of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.

- Denise Stewart, 31, one count conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance

- Robert Stewart, 37, two counts delivery of a controlled substance; two counts possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance; one count conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance.

The seventh arrest is being processed.

Spencer police say the investigation is continuing with additional arrests expected to be made.
