Enrollment is now open for the 12-week program of classes being offered at Heartwood in the Hills' this Fall. Classes are available for ages 5 through seniors and include Creative Arts for Children as well as classes in movement, theatre dance, ballet and maskmaking. In addition, Heartwood's Dance Company is open for boys and girls aged 9 and up.

Heartwood is located on Lovada Road just off Route 16 north of Grantsville. It is a non-profit school for the arts offering morning, after-school and evening classes since 1982.

All students who participate in the Fall Program will have the opportunity to be part of the 19th Annual and Last December Celebration.

Traditionally, the December Celebration is a showcase of student, alumni and faculty work as well as a much anticipated and well-attended community evening of theatre, dance and storytelling.

Alumni from the past 18 December Celebrations are encouraged to get in touch with Heartwood to participate in this very special gala performance.

The 19th Annual and Last December Celebration will be held on Friday and Saturday, Dec. 9 and 10. The Friday evening performance will be an open dress rehearsal.

Heartwood's Mask class is for those aged 14 and older. The mask a student makes during this 12-week class is theirs to take home. If you are interested in this class for a younger person please contact the school for more information.

Also, for those interested in enrolling a child or teen with the Dance Company, please note there are no auditions to join but students must desire to learn to dance and must commit to attend all classes and rehearsals for the 19th Annual December Celebration.

It is possible there will be an orientation for the Dance Company the week prior to classes so anyone interested in joining should contact Heartwood as soon as possible.

There is a $10 enrollment fee per student for the program. Class fees are very affordable and can be paid by the class or by the program. To enroll or for general information or information about Financial Aid and transportation please call 304-354-7874. If no one is in the office please leave a message and someone will return your call.
