Benjamin F. Carter, 73, of Arnoldsburg, WV, died May 22 in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.

Born in Braxton County, WV, he was a son of the late Jeff and Mable McGraw Carter. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War and was a retired timberman.

Surviving are his wife Peggy Casto Carter and five daughters, Donna Casto of Spencer, WV, Vicky Dye of Arnoldsburg, Tressa McClain of Maryland, Lisa Wigel of Hickory, NC and Pamela Baxter of Florida; one son, Kevin R. Carter of Hickory, NC; two sisters, Jackie Carter of Arizona and Jaunita Lambert of Jane Lew, WV; one brother, Toby Carter of Minnora, WV; twelve grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Richard and Franklin Carter and two daughters, Anita Potts and Brenda Clute.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 11 a.m. at Stump Funeral Home in Arnoldsburg. Reverend Roger Carter will officiate. Interment will be in the Hardway Cemetery at Elmira. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
