Howard W. Reppert, 95 - formerly of Buckhannon

Howard W. "Celery" Reppert, 95, formerly of Buckhannon, West Virginia passed peacefully on June 6, 2011 at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston, WV after a long illness.

Howard was a veteran of WWII serving with the Army Air Corps, now known as USAF.

Howard retired from The Budd Company in Gary, Indiana. He was a graduate of West Virginia Wesleyan College with a double B.S. Degree in Chemistry and Science.

Howard is survived by one son, Kelley of Colville WA, three grandchildren Pauline, Kenneth and Rufus, three great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn K. Reppert, and seven brothers and sisters. Howard is survived by brother, Col. Leonard B Reppert of Fort Walton Beach FL and a nefarious assortment of nephews and nieces and longtime best friend, Jim Gallmore of Camden on Gauley.

Howard loved fishing, squirrel hunting, the New York Yankees and dinner. He was fortunate enough to have seen "Babe" Ruth and Lou Gehrig in the 1932 World Series at old Yankee Stadium as a boy of 17 years age.

Very special thanks to the loving and caring staff at Regency Place in Scott Depot especially Brownie, Babe, Taffy, Lucy and Bertha. Also thanks go to the professionals at the Hubbard Hospice House, for their gentle kindness at the sunset of Howard's life.

A private memorial will be planned in the near future as Howard finally returns to East Main St. in his beloved hometown, Buckhannon WV.
