GUMBAREVIC BEGINS 'PEOPLE TO PEOPLE' STUDENT AMBASSADOR TOUR

Ali Gumbarevic a resident of Sinking Springs and a senior at Calhoun High School will depart for Europe today with the People to People Student Ambassador Program.

The People to People movement dates back more than half a century to its founding by President Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1956. Eisenhower was acting on his firm belief that direct interaction between ordinary citizens around the world can promote cultural understanding and world peace. That proud legacy of hope lives on in People to People Ambassador Programs on seven continents.

Traveling with a host of other students Gumbarevic's visits will include England, France, Belgium, Germany, Switzerland, and the Netherlands.

Gumbarevic would like to thank everyone that helped make this unique opportunity for educational growth possible, through their donations and supporting the many fundraising activities sponsored by family and friends.

"First I would like to thank my mom, Donna LaGrone for believing in me and for all her hard work," she said.
