ORMA WOMAN NEWLY APPOINTED MEDICAL EXAMINER

Orma resident Rebecca Swisher (left) is among the state's newest Medical Examiners. Swisher is an assistant Medical Examiner for Calhoun, Gilmer and Braxton counties, assisting Stacy Harlow. She attended the Forensic Death Investigation Conference in Flatwoods in October took the test for Medical Examiner and was contacted by the ME's office in Charleston regarding the position, which was followed by further training. Swisher resides in Orma with Brian and daughters BrookLynn and EmiLee. She is the daughter of Nora and Allen Swisher of Chloe and a part-time employee of Minnie Hamilton Health System's Emergency Department and Long Term Care Unit.
