Three people went to the hospital following a Thursday morning accident in Wirt County, according to Sergeant L.J. Peck with the Wirt County Sheriff's Department.

Peck told media that a tractor trailer was stopped at the interchange of Route 53 and Route 5 around 4:00 a.m. when an Oldsmobile driven by Oakley Cheuvront crashed into it from behind.

Peck says after extracting people from the car, Cheuvront, Alex Carper and Ashley Keener, were taken to Camden Clark Medical Center.

Cheuvront was transferred to Charleston Area Medical Center.

Carper is under evaluation at Camden Clark and Keener has been treated and released.

The truck driver suffered no injuries.
