Welcome back to Beason! A place where one is always welcome to risk the health of their car to come and visit us. I would like to add that the road has been patched some, but, seems there are car-destroying holes still there. Not to mention, the grass isn't only greener in Beason, it's growing up the middle of the road. You don't' have to worry about the other side because soon you won't be able to see the other side. We'll just go ahead and use it for second cutting. Just giving a heads up to what you will be driving into.

Congratulations to Seana and Brian Miller of Calhoun County on the birth of their new son!

Little League has kept us hopping this spring. Once again, I am grateful we are a part of a "team" not a chosen few who get to play constantly. I won't have my kid thinking that he's better than anyone else. I also want him to earn his playtime just like everyone else. He is dedicated to the sport and he should be rewarded for his hard work. But, one has to keep grounded and be fair. I can tell you he will never play on a "by invite only" team after his little league years. Not a chance. I don't' raise my children to be amongst people that don't give everyone a chance to be a shining star.

I took the kids to the Wood Festival this past Saturday. We had a good time eating hideously expensive, greasy carnival food, throwing darts and pitching dimes. I saw people that I knew in high school and apparently, they have become too 'above me' to speak. So, I guess those friends and I weren't really friends to start with. But, then, there were the friends that I hadn't seen in years and we picked up a conversation like I had just seen them the day before. That's when you find out who your friends are.

We would like to offer our sincerest condolences to the Hoalcraft and Taylor families for their loss of Jean. I didn't know Jean very well, but, I do know I never saw her without a smile. I never heard a negative thing come out of her mouth. What a world this would be if there were more like her! I went to Jean's funeral and was floored when her husband did part of the service. It was the most amazing gesture of love I have ever seen in my life. Rufus (Jean's husband) spoke of her as this amazing love that he was grateful to have and how she never let him down. After the service was over, I thought to myself, more people should experiences that kind of love. I also thought there is so much hate in this world, why can't we get away from it and follow the examples that are set before us? I know I will remember Jean's smile and the service about amazing love. Bless you Rufus.

We had the pleasure of witnessing kittenbirth the other day. Our poor cat had 7 kittens! All's I can say is she's a better woman than me. That just grossed me out immensely. Sorry to say, but, I am not a big fan of natural childbirth, or in this case, kittenbirth. Whew. But, she is a young cat and I was worried about her so I chose to make sure she made it through it OK. But, let me make this clear. That will be the one and only time I will ever do that.

Ten more days until we are beach bound! I am so ready to go. I just need a break from reality and all the bills that go with it. I will definitely report from the road.

Peace.
