JIM ARNOLD - Parkersburg

Jim Arnold, 87, of Parkersburg died May 17, 2002, at St. Joseph's Hospital.

He was born in Calhoun County, a son of the late John Pierson and Sarah Janett King Arnold.

He retired in 1980 from Johns Manville. He was a United States Army veteran and loved to fish and watch any type of baseball game.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Lena M. Sciance Arnold; one stepson, Glen Sciance and his wife Carol of Fleming, Ohio; seven stepgrandchildren, Keith Riffle of Coolville, Ohio, Kelly Myers and her husband Derek of Marietta, Kim Spurlock and her husband Bill of Belpre, Greg Sciance, Teresa Adams and her husband Randy and Cindy Bowen and her husband Dave, all of Fleming, and Lisa Huntsman and her husband Mark of Marietta; one stepson-in-law, John Riffle of Little Hocking, Ohio; 17 stepgreat-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his one stepdaughter, Crystal Riffle; two brothers, Ralph and Lynn Arnold; and two sisters, Nell Jarvis and Maude Parsons.

Services were held Monday, May 21 at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, Pastor Don Archer officiating. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery North with military graveside services by American Legion Post 15.
