HEARING SET FOR HUSK THURSDAY - Memorial Will Be Held For Cyrus

Private family services will be held for shooting victim John Dale Cyrus, 45, of Chloe. Cyrus died June 8 of gunshot wounds received during an incident near Big Bend. He was employed by the WV Department of Highways, a veteran of the US Army, a member of the Elmira Baptist Church and the Upper West Fork Volunteer Fire Department. A hearing has been rescheduled for Thursday in Calhoun magistrate court for Thomas Husk, who has been charged with second degree murder following his [Cyrus] death. While both men had concealed weapons permits, only Husk had a weapon. A criminal complaint says Husk used his weapon, shooting Cyrus three times, after Cyrus approached his car and punched him in the face. See complete obituary John Dale Cyrus
